A woman in her 70s who is trapped in her home was rescued after a tree fell on his Mesa home.

It happened at University Drive and Center Street on Monday afternoon.

Paramedic, firefighters and technical rescue all came together at the home to try and get the woman out, firefighters said.

Firefighters said crews cut through some tree limbs and debris in the house to get the woman safely out of the home. She had minor injuries.

There were other people in the house and they were able to get out of the home safely.

The tree falling was likely due to the monsoon storm that hit the Valley on Monday.

The home appears to be a total loss, firefighters said.

The storm brought a wall of dust, strong winds, hard rain and even hail.

Tens of thousands were without power because of the storm. Trees were down and streets saw some flooding.
