(Meredith) – A disturbing video shows a father swinging his 1-year-old son like a baseball bat and tossing the child to the ground during an argument with his girlfriend.
Police arrested 27-year-old Techhoak Danny Lim on suspicion of child endangerment with great bodily harm following the incident at a home in Riverside, California on Thursday, July 5.
Neighbor Christy Ogden captured footage of the argument on a security camera outside her home, CBS Los Angeles reported. She later posted it to Facebook.
In the video, the man appears to use the boy as a weapon to hit his current girlfriend, who is not the child's mother. At one point, Lim is also seen swinging the boy around his head before dropping him.
“It was horrible to watch,” Ogden told the station.
The concerned neighbor said she did not witness the altercation and only realized what happened after reviewing the surveillance footage.
After police caught up with Lim, he reportedly confessed to the crime.
"He did admit and said he would probably be going to jail for what he did,” said Riverside police Detective Jerilynn Czobakowski.
The detective said the child suffered cuts, bruises and bleeding to an ear, according to the Press-Enterprise. He is now in the custody of his biological mother.
Lim was freed after posting $50,000 bail the day after his arrest.
