Two people were stabbed while stopping a robbery at a South Tucson landmark Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
The South Tucson Police Department said it happened around 1:30 p.m. at Mi Nidito Restaurant on South 4th Avenue.
Jerry Evans Madril, 20, has been arrested on charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault and burglary.
Officers arrived and learned Madril, armed with a knife, entered the restaurant and attempted to rob it.
Two Mi Nidito employees fought back and subdued Madril, who was taken away with minor injuries.
One of the employees was slashed in the torso, while a second was slashed in the leg. Both are expected to recover.
