The Phoenix Police Department identified on Wednesday the woman a police officer shot at.
The woman is 24-year-old Claire Behun, according to police.
Police said just after 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, officers were called out to a home near Seventh Avenue and McDowell Road after a Behun's father said she had a knife and was threatening to harm herself and others.

Both the father and mother were out of the home when officers went inside.
Police said Behun had a large kitchen knife and charged at one officer, who fired one shot at her but missed.
A police sergeant then deployed his stun gun, which helped subdue Behun. She was then taken into custody.
No officers were hurt and neither was Behun. However, she was taken to the hospital for medical reasons, police said.
Court documents said she admitted to calling 911 with the hope that officers would kill her. She also admitted she was in a mental health crisis and was undergoing treatment for mental health issues.
Behun was then booked into jail on one count of aggravated assault on police.500 W Holly St
