A DPS trooper is going to be OK after he accidentally discharged his weapon, shooting himself in the hand.

It happened around 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Knutson station, near 16th Street and University Drive.

"A trooper's firearm accidentally discharged. He is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries," said Bart Graves with the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

No one else was injured.

The Knutson station is named for Public Safety Officer Doug Knutson, who died in the line of duty in 1998.
